By all measures, you're successful. So why doesn't it feel like that?
Good job. Good income. People who respect you. A life that looks great from the outside.
And yet…
You’re either thinking about work whilst playing with the kids or doing the work when you ought to be playing with the kids. Guilty either way.
People come to you to solve their problems. But who’s helping you?
Relationships feel forced, distant, or transactional. You find yourself frustrated at the people around you — then frustrated at yourself for letting it change how you show up with the people you love.
Nobody really knows this; from the outside everything looks fine.
There’s no-one in your corner. You’re not looking for a counsellor or a time management course. You just want someone who’ll tell you the truth — knows how to help you — and cares how things go for you.
Every elite athlete has a coach. Because they know what’s possible with someone genuinely on their side who can see the game from the grandstand.
Life is better and success is easier when you can finally lighten the load.
If that’s what you’re looking for — let’s talk.
“My boys have a better chance of being well-rounded, rational young men as a result of me committing myself to this journey of figuring out my thoughts.”
~ Ben H.
People come to this work from different places. Here are a few of them.
J___ — Director, Professional Services
J_ had built something real. Fifty people, good clients, a reputation that preceded him. He was also running a cycle he couldn’t break — push hard, feel the pressure build, fall in a hole, reset, repeat. He was so good at solving problems he’d quietly taken on everyone else’s, until the weight of it became too much.
The work wasn’t about doing less. It was about understanding where his stress was actually coming from — and what was genuinely his to carry. He came out the other side with a clearer head and, in his own word:
“Balance.”
— J_
G___ — Senior Professional, Large Organisation
G_ was the smartest person in most rooms he walked into. He could even articulate exactly what was getting in his way — the perfectionism, the self-doubt, the fear of the leap. Knowing it wasn’t enough. He’d been passed over for promotion. His numbers weren’t where they needed to be.
What unlocked it was having someone genuinely in his corner — outside his organisation, no politics, no consequences. Someone he could be honest with. The science gave him the understanding he values. The coaching trust and accountability make sure he did something about it. He’s now hitting his numbers and is now a genuine candidate for the promotion that once felt out of reach.
P___ — Rising Leader, Local Government
P_ was good at her job. Her managers could see it. Her peers could see it. The promotions were coming. The one person who couldn’t quite see it was her.
She worried whether she was doing the right thing, second-guessed decisions that didn’t need second-guessing, and compensated by working twice as hard as the role required. She wasn’t cutting corners — she was doubling the workload to feel safe. Burnout wasn’t a risk. It was the destination she was quietly heading toward.
The work was about learning to trust what was already there. Stepping into the space others could already see she deserved. Since we worked together, P_ has been promoted twice.
“Nigel gave me a great grounding and the tools to successfully grow those behaviours. It was a fantastic programme.”
— Phil H — CFO, MCA Group
Here's what I do — and what it takes.
I help the successful people close the gap between how their life looks on the outside and how it feels on the inside. The tools are neuroscience and Stoic philosophy. The method is honest conversation — with someone who understands how the mind works, tells you the truth, has a sense of humour, and is genuinely on your side.
The goal is an improved experience of life for you. Your personal happiness and success.
Better performance, relationships, and leadership tend to follow. But they are the byproduct, not the pitch.
I'm selective about who I work with.
Not because of status or seniority — but because this work requires a specific kind of readiness. The people it works best for are honest with themselves, curious about why they do what they do, and genuinely willing to look at things differently. If that’s you, I’d like to hear from you.
The first step is a confidential conversation. No pitch, no pressure. We both need to find out if this is the right fit before I make an offer to work with you.
